Three ways in

You don't have to be at the beginning to need a builder.

Buildside meets companies and founders where they actually are.

01 / BUILD

I have an idea worth building.

You know the problem. You see the opportunity. We validate it, shape it, position it and build the infrastructure required to turn an idea into an actual business.

02 / COACH

I've built it. Now I need a better partner in the room.

The company exists. Buildside becomes the experienced builder beside you — pressure-testing decisions, finding blind spots, opening doors and helping turn strategy into action.

03 / RUN

I don't need more advice. I need someone to operate.

Buildside embeds as fractional CEO/COO — taking operating ownership, building the team and systems, driving execution and helping lead the company through its next stage.

Who we build with

Different starting points.
Same problem.

01

The expert with a company hiding in their experience

You've spent years seeing something other people don't. We find out whether there's a company inside it — and build it with you.

02

The executive ready to build their own thing

You've accumulated expertise, relationships and pattern recognition. Now you're ready to turn those assets into something you own.

03

The founder already in it

You have customers, revenue, maybe employees — and you're still making too many consequential decisions alone.

04

The founder who needs an operator, not just an advisor

An operator embedded in the company. Not someone circling it.

What we actually do

Whatever it takes to move the company forward.

Buildside isn't hired to produce deliverables. We're hired to create progress. What that requires changes with the company.

20+ ventures. 15+ industries. One common denominator: we got inside the problem.

How Buildside works

The three things
that don't change.

01

We build.
We don't just advise.

We're in the business with you — not handing you a framework and wishing you luck.

02

The stage doesn't
change the standard.

Idea, first revenue or scaling — every venture gets the same rigor: validated story, real infrastructure and execution that holds.

03

We stay through
the parts that matter.

We stay through go-to-market, growth and — when it's the right fit — as embedded operating leadership.

“He didn't build it for me. He built it with me.”

Founder, Sissy + Snap
Full story

“I was eleven years old with an idea for a purse company. I didn't know what a brand was. I didn't know what a market was. I just knew I wanted to make something. My dad helped me see that my little idea was actually a real business—and then he helped me build every piece of it. We created the brand, designed the product, launched it, and I won Kid Entrepreneur of the Year. He didn't build it for me. He built it with me. That's the thing people don't understand about how he works—he makes you feel like you can do it, and then he proves you're right.”

COACH

“Brian's energy is contagious and inspiring every step of the way.”

Founder, MaxOne
Full story

“What started out as a mentor-mentee relationship between me and Brian as I was starting MaxOne very naturally turned into a thoughtful marketing partnership with a team he curated around me and the business that I was building. The team was intentional with our budget, flexible as our needs changed, and helpful as we rebranded, built the base of marketing assets, and began acquiring our first customers. Through the process Brian and his team have stayed friends and companions on the journey. Brian's energy is contagious and inspiring every step of the way.”

A clearer place to start

Questions founders ask us.

01

What does a venture co-builder actually do?

A venture co-builder works beside a founder to turn an opportunity into an operating company. Through Buildside’s Build work, that can include validating the problem and buyer, shaping the business model and positioning, building the brand and go-to-market plan, preparing for capital, and putting the early operating infrastructure in place. The role is hands-on and changes with the company; our selected work shows what that can look like in practice.

02

I have deep expertise but no startup idea. Can Buildside help?

Yes. Often the starting point is not a polished startup idea but years of pattern recognition: problems you have solved repeatedly, gaps you keep seeing, or an insight others miss. Buildside can help surface those possibilities and test whether one could support a real company. The goal is not to force your experience into a startup or promise there is a company inside it; it is to find out carefully. Our Insight on how to turn expertise into equity explains the thinking behind that work.

03

How do you tell whether an idea is worth building?

We look for evidence: a meaningful problem, an identifiable buyer, urgency and willingness to act, a differentiated insight, and a credible path to deliver and grow. Then we test the important assumptions through customer conversations, market learning, and early validation before overbuilding. A promising idea earns the next investment of time and money; not every idea should become a company. That discipline is central to our Build work.

04

Do I need to be starting from zero to work with Buildside?

No. Buildside meets founders where they are. Build is for shaping and validating a new company, Coach is for founders who want an experienced builder beside them, and Run is for businesses that need embedded operating leadership. Having revenue, a team, or an existing company does not make it too late; it often makes the real gap easier to see.

05

What is the difference between founder coaching and an embedded CEO or COO?

Founder coaching helps you lead the company better by pressure-testing decisions, seeing blind spots, and thinking through the next stage while you retain operating ownership. An embedded CEO or COO joins the leadership team and takes responsibility for execution: operating cadence, priorities, systems, cross-functional decisions, and accountability. Our Fractional COO vs. Consultant Insight goes deeper on the difference between advice and ownership.

06

Does Buildside help companies raise capital?

Yes, as part of building a company—not as a promise of investment. Buildside can help with capital strategy and readiness, sharpen the company’s story, develop investor materials, strengthen the financial and operating case, and prepare the founder to run a disciplined process. We can help a company become more ready to raise; the decision to invest, and the outcome of any fundraising process, always belongs to the market.

07

How do we begin working together?

Use the Start a conversation form below. Share your name, email, company or idea, where you are in the journey, and what you are trying to solve. Submitting the form opens a ready-to-send email to Brian; that message starts a conversation about where you are, what is stuck, and whether Build, Coach, or Run is the right way to work together.

What are you trying to build?

Maybe it's still an idea.
Maybe it's already a company.
Maybe it's become something bigger than you can run alone.

Tell me where you are. We'll figure out what comes next.
